City Sniffers is committed to making our services, workplace, communications and digital spaces welcoming and accessible to people with disability.
As a disability-owned small business, accessibility and inclusion are also personally important to us. We know that access needs are different for everyone, and we welcome conversations about how we can make it easier for people to work with us and access our services.
We are a small team with limited resources, so some accessibility improvements may take time. We are committed to continuing to learn, identifying barriers and making practical and reasonable improvements wherever we can.
Our accessibility commitment
In Australia, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) protects people from discrimination on the basis of disability, including in employment and access to goods and services

For digital accessibility, we are guided by the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Guidelines on equal access to digital goods and services and are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the minimum level recommended by the Commission.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We expect to continue reviewing and improving our websites, systems and services as our business and technology change.
Website accessibility
We are working to improve the accessibility of our websites and digital content and are working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
The City Sniffers website is built using Wix, and we use Wix’s accessibility tools to help identify and address issues including alternative text for images, headings, colour contrast, keyboard navigation and page structure.
Our websites and digital platforms use different technologies, and their accessibility may differ. We do not currently claim that every page, feature or platform meets every WCAG 2.2 AA success criterion.
If you find something that isn’t accessible, please let us know. We would much rather know about a barrier so we can assist you and, where possible, improve it.
Accessibility tools
The City Sniffers website includes the free UserWay Accessibility Widget as an additional accessibility aid.
To open the accessibility menu, select the accessibility icon on the side of the screen. The menu provides optional tools that may assist with adjusting text, contrast and other aspects of how the website is displayed.
The widget is an additional tool and does not replace accessible website design or guarantee that every part of the website meets WCAG requirements.
Accessibility tools may differ between our websites and digital platforms.
Our City Sniffers app
We also provide a City Sniffers app for bookings, communications, account information and updates.
We recognise that some features of our app may not be fully accessible to everyone or compatible with all assistive technologies. We are reviewing the app and its accessibility as part of our broader digital accessibility work.
If you have difficulty using the app, you do not need to rely on it to access our services or ask for assistance. Please contact us and, where reasonably possible, we will work with you to provide another way to access the relevant information or service.
Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
City Sniffers recognises and supports the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, an international initiative that helps raise awareness of non-visible disabilities and provides a discreet way for someone to indicate that they may need additional support, understanding or time.
We have recently introduced the Sunflower as part of our developing accessibility and inclusion work. We are currently working on staff awareness and how we can best recognise and support people who choose to display the Sunflower.
You are always welcome to tell us about an adjustment or assistance that would help you access our services. You do not need to disclose the nature of your disability to ask us for assistance.
Our approach to the Sunflower is still developing, and we will update this information as we introduce further staff guidance and accessibility initiatives.

Accessibility in our workplace
Our commitment to accessibility also extends to the people who work with us.
We aim to provide an inclusive workplace and, where needed, work with employees to identify reasonable adjustments that support them to participate safely and effectively at work.
As a small business, our resources are limited and not every adjustment or accessibility improvement can necessarily be made immediately. We consider individual circumstances and aim to work in good faith to find practical and reasonable solutions, including alternative approaches where appropriate.
We are continuing to learn and improve our workplace, systems and practices as our team develops.

If you have an accessibility requirement when working with us or accessing our services, we encourage you to contact us.
Where reasonably possible, we will work with you to identify an appropriate adjustment or another way for you to access our information or services.
You do not need to disclose the nature of your disability simply to report an accessibility barrier or ask us about an adjustment.
